Biography
Dr. William Patrick titles his work "Color in praise." He is a strong proponent of the thought and practice that it is "good to give thanks" and that having an appreciative attitude can be expressed in the beauty of color from an artist's palette.
He began painting 30-plus years ago while serving as a United States Navy chaplain stationed in San Diego. He studied for two years with William De Shazo, a well-known seascape artist.
After this short period, then-Lt. Patrick's Navy ship deployed to the western Pacific, and he continued his painting while pursuing his career in the Navy. While moving throughout the world with the Navy, he presented his work as an artist in shows in the U.S., Japan and Sicily, and in juried shows in Newport, R.I., and Southern California.
One of his works, "In the Hands of the Potter" has been published as a limited edition print and has been used extensively to raise financial support for Christian college ministry and for world missions. All proceeds from this work continue to go toward Christian world missions.
Dr. Patrick's works hang in the offices of Christian leaders and in churches and Christian colleges in various parts of the world.
William Patrick — B.S., M. Div., D. Min., retired pastor, United States Navy Chaplain (25 years), college administrator, and campus pastor...and active artist — now resides with his wife, Saralyn, in the Temecula valley of Southern California.
